Along the Hudson River, Troy residents may notice rodents in or around their homes. Mice and rats are drawn to water sources since rivers and lakes offer the rodents plenty of food and provide shelter in the form of sticks and leaves. However, once the temperature drops, they’re forced to move indoors. Rodents are able to squeeze through small cracks at any level of your home. Keep an eye out for rodent droppings as that is a tell-tale sign of an infestation.
During the warmer months in Troy, ants can also be a nuisance. They will invade homes looking for food or moisture and can enter through the tiniest of cracks. Though regular household ants may be bothersome, carpenter ants are the true playground bullies.
Carpenter ants can create serious problems for homeowners in Troy. They chew tunnels through wood, damaging the structural integrity of buildings. If firewood, fencing, or wooden construction material is close to the home, carpenter ants can use those materials for nesting. They are then drawn to food and water inside the house.
To avoid household ants and carpenter ants, keep branches and other materials located at least a few feet from the home. It’s also important to keep your kitchen clean and fix leaky pipes. Just like rodents, ants love water. Why not stay pest-free for as long as possible?
Fox Pest Control delivered the best customer service and field rep experience I could have hoped for. We had mice - relatively new ans very clean (at all times) home in a suburban neighborhood with a bit of forever wild in the back. However in past couple of years our development was completed and probably some field mice lost their habitat so decided to join us rent free. We said no to that and called Fox. John gave me a great education in mice habits and the confidence to know where and how to trap them. Fox has different levels of service we opted for the quarterly maintenance plan. Because of this we did not get intensive mice extermination as part of our plan. Even so Fox honored our callback request to make sure the problem was subdued for now. And we think it is. I think we could recommend Fox to anyone.

Fox exterminators, OMG! They are the kindest, most professional, workers and company, from the office workers to the ground workers. They treated my bee problems, spider, problems, including huge hornet nest, they got rid of them, the first time they came to my home. They came back 30 days later for free, because they wanted to be sure, all the pests were gone. And they were,I feel very secure, that they looked out for me. Then I had a flea problem in my yard, and they came out, got rid of the flea problem, for free. I will never be with out fox, exterminators company. They are so Adorable, also, I'd pay them more if I could, that's how good they are. I give them 100 stars 100 percent the real deal. Thank you Fox exterminators, I wish all company's were as good as you.

Albany Branch Manager, Kevin Wells, lives in Troy. He has wonderful memories of going to get ice cream at the Snowman Ice Cream stand. He also loves walking along the hiking trails on Peebles Island with his dogs. His walks serve as both a relaxing stroll and a visual history lesson since you can still see the mounds the Americans used during the Revolutionary War while hiking! Jeremiah, a Fox technician, and other team members agree that Peeble Island is a great place to experience both nature and history.
Recently, our Albany technicians held their Green Glove Project, an annual trash pickup project, at Prospect Park in Troy. They filled eight trash bags with litter over the course of a few hours.
Kevin was proud of the work his team did. “We did this project to help out in the community in which we work,” he said. “We’re glad to have been able to lend a hand to clean up our community.”
